Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is also an author. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist, television personality and owner of the online, independent news magazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England along with her family members at sixteen years of age. At Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The first graduate who was not from the UK to hold the office of president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. After her graduation, she became an influential conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political scene. It was possible for her to recruit several notable contributors to post their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna was famous following her decision to stand as independently in the California recall election in order to replace the Governor Davis. Additionally, she managed an Detroit campaign to increase the use of energy efficient vehicles. Forbes listed her as the 12th most influential woman in media in 2009, and Guardian also ranked her on the list of Top 100 media during the same year. In 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her president of the media unit, which comprised of many at the time-operating AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. She was very close with her father, but it was her relationship to her mother that formed her. She showed leadership traits at an early age. At the age of 16, she began studying within her native United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of The Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the first woman to be elected president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned master's degrees in Economics. Following after graduation she became a TV host and columnist. Also, she appeared along with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
